Configuring Email Account Authorization
When linking your email account to SHOPLINE‘s message center, it is essential to configure email settings to permit third-party access or to obtain an authorization code for the linking process. This precautionary measure is crucial for preventing the potential leakage of your email information, thereby enhancing the security of your account's privacy. This article offers guidance on configuring authorization settings when connecting to several commonly used email platforms.
Authorizing Gmail Access
Follow the steps below to obtain the authorization code and to configure authorization settings for linking your Gmail account to SHOPLINE’s message center.
Obtaining Authorization Code (App Password in Gmail)
- Log in to your Google account.
- Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner and select Manage your Google Account.
- Click Security on the left menu, go to the "How you sign in to Google" section, and click on the 2-Step Verification option.
- Click Get started and follow the provided steps to enable the 2-step verification.
- Return to the "Security" page and click on 2-Step Verification again. Then, scroll down to the bottom and click App passwords.
- On the "App passwords" page, input the app name and click Create to generate the app password, which also serves as the authorization code. Save the code for linking purposes.
Enabling Gmail IMAP
- In your Gmail account, click the Settings icon in the upper right corner and select See all settings.
- Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, select Enable IMAP in the "IMAP access" section, and then click Save changes to complete the setup.
After obtaining the authorization code and completing the IMAP setup, proceed to your SHOPLINE admin panel to connect your email to the message center using the provided authorization code.
Authorizing Hotmail/Outlook Access
In most cases, linking your Hotmail or Outlook account to SHOPLINE can be accomplished by entering your email address and password. However, if the connection fails, follow these steps to verify your email IP address:
- Log in to your Microsoft account.
- In the header menu, click the Security tab and complete the verification process if required.
- On the "Security" page, click View my activity in the "Sign-in activity" section. Complete the verification process if required.
- In the "Unusual activity" section, locate the activity related to the SHOPLINE login attempt, then click This was me to verify your identity.
After successfully verifying your identity in your Microsoft account, you should be able to link it to SHOPLINE’s message center using your email address and password.
Authorizing ZOHO Mail Access
To successfully link your ZOHO mail to SHOPLINE’s message center, you need to grant access via IMAP. Follow the instructions below to do so:
- Log in to your ZOHO mail account. Then, click on the Settings icon in the upper right corner.
- In the "Mail" section on the left menu, click on Mail accounts.
- In the header menu, select the IMAP tab and enable the IMAP Access option. Then, click Save.
After enabling email access via IMAP in your ZOHO mail account, you should be able to link it to SHOPLINE’s message center using your email address and password.
Authorizing QQ Mail Access
To facilitate third-party access and acquire the authorization code for linking your QQ mail to SHOPLINE’s message center, follow these steps:
- Log in to your QQ mail account.
- Click on your profile in the upper right corner and select Settings.
- Within the "General" tab, locate the IMAP/SMTP feature in the "Third-party Services" section, and activate the service by clicking Enable Service.
- In the "Security Verification" pop-up window, proceed by clicking Go To Verify.
- Use your phone to send an SMS or scan the QR code displayed on the screen with WeChat. Then, click SMS Sent on the web page.
- The authorization code will then appear on the web page.
After obtaining your authorization code, go to SHOPLINE’s message center and link your QQ mail account using your email address and the provided code.
