Sending Broadcast in WhatsApp and Facebook
SHOPLINE now supports merchants in sending broadcast messages to customers via WhatsApp and Facebook, allowing for efficient outreach and increased GMV. This feature enables you to message multiple customers simultaneously, saving time and boosting efficiency. After sending messages, you can also view relevant data, including details of the sending schedule and reasons for any delivery failures. This data can be used for analysis and optimization, enhancing the effectiveness of your broadcasts and marketing strategies. Customers receiving your broadcast messages can stay informed of important updates, thereby improving satisfaction and shopping experiences.
Send Facebook Subscription Authorization
Go to SHOPLINE Admin and click on Messages. Find Messenger settings and click on the Go to settings button on the right, and click Subscription authorization template > Create authorization template. To create a Facebook authorization template.
Fill out columns in Facebook authorization template such as Template name, Template image, Template subject, Authorization follow-up message, and then click on Save to complete.
- Template Name: Visible to merchants only, maximum input of 20 characters.
- Template image: You can upload image files up to 5 MB in size at most.
- Template Theme: Visible to customers, the title used to display authorization information cannot be duplicated.
- Authorization Follow up Message: Officially supported merchants can bind up to 3 pieces of authorization information. Authorization follow-up messages will be sent sequentially within 2 minutes after the customer agrees to the authorization. Merchants can choose not to add authorization follow-up messages. Clicking on Add Authorization Follow-up Message will display options for Text Message, Image Message, Image-text Message, and Card Message. You can choose and fill in the relevant content based on the type of message you want to send.
- When you select Text Message, you can enter up to 250 characters of text. The input box provides variables such as customer name, which allows you to quickly apply personalized messages. When the follow-up message is actually sent, the variable will dynamically replace with the customer's name based on the recipient.
- When you choose Image Message, you can upload up to 1 image, with a maximum size of 25 MB.
- When you choose Image-text Message, you can enter up to 250 characters of text. The input box provides a variable customer name that allows you to quickly apply it, and when the follow-up information is actually sent, it will be dynamically replaced with the customer's name based on the recipient. You can also upload up to 1 image, with a maximum size of 25 MB.
- When you select Card Message, the message consists of an image, a title, a description, and a button. You can upload up to 1 image in jpg format, not exceeding 5 MB. The title can be up to 80 characters, and the description can be up to 80 characters. You can choose not to set a button, but if you do, click Add Button to set the button text and the URL to which the customer will be directed when clicking the button. The button title can be up to 20 characters. Hover over the "+" to add carousel cards. Adding carousel cards will add a new empty card to the right of the current card, with the same content and logic as the default card. You can set up to 10 card messages, which will be displayed to customers as a single message and can be manually swiped to view in carousel format.

In SHOPLINE Admin, go to Messages > View Messages > Messenger. Open the chat box with the customer and send them the authorization template. Once the customer agrees, you can create and send Facebook broadcasts to them.
- If a user has not previously agreed to subscribe to any of your authorization templates, there will be a prompt on the right side of the user's chat panel asking you to send an authorization template.
- Clicking on Send Subscription Authorization Template Message will bring up a dialog to send the authorization template message. Select an authorization template message and click Send Authorization Message. The customer will receive a request for authorization message, and once they agree, the corresponding authorization template message will be marked as subscribed.
- Subscribed templates cannot be sent.
Create and Send Facebook Broadcast
In SHOPLINE Admin, go to Messages > View Messages > Broadcast Messages > Facebook > Add Broadcast to create a new broadcast.
- Set your Facebook broadcast name, which is visible only to the merchant.
- Select recipients: You need to choose Fan Pages and Contact Type. The contact type defaults to Facebook contacts who interacted within 24 hours, and also supports Subscribed Facebook contacts. When selecting Subscribed contacts, you need to choose Subscription Templates, which can be multiple. Selecting multiple means that contacts subscribed to any of the authorization template messages will be included in the recipients. If a contact subscribes to two authorization templates within one broadcast task, they will only receive one broadcast message (i.e., they will not receive multiple messages with the same content). After selecting the recipients, you will see an estimated number of recipients on the right side.
- Set the broadcast content:
- Facebook contacts who interacted within 24 hours support sending Text Messages, Image Messages, Image & Text Messages, Authorization Subscription Messages, and Card Messages.
- Subscribed Facebook contacts support sending Text Messages, Image Messages, Image & Text Messages, and Card Messages.
- Set the broadcast sending time: Supports Send Now and Schedule Send. Select Send Now to send the broadcast immediately after creation; select Schedule Send to send the broadcast at a specified time.
- Supports saving existing content as a template: After completing all the required fields of the broadcast, click Save as Template to save the current broadcast's Broadcast Name and Broadcast Content as a template.
- Click Send to complete the broadcast creation.
Send WhatsApp Subscription Authorization
In SHOPLINE Admin, navigate to Messages > View Messages > WhatsApp. Open the chat with the customer, then send the Opt-in template to the customer. Click Send message of this authorization template. Once the customer agrees, you can create and send WhatsApp broadcasts to them.
Create and Send WhatsApp Broadcast
In SHOPLINE Admin, go to Messages > View Messages > Broadcast Messages > WhatsApp > Add Broadcast, where you can create a new broadcast.
Set your WhatsApp broadcast name, which is visible only to the merchant.
Select recipients: Choose WhatsApp account and contact type. The contact type defaults to Contacts interacted within the last 24 hours, and also supports Subscribed contacts.
When selecting Subscribed contacts, it means that WhatsApp contacts with a subscription status of Subscribed will be the recipients.
After selecting the recipients, you will see the estimated number of recipients on the right side.
Set the broadcast content:
Only when the recipient type is Contacts interacted within the last 24 hours, you can choose between Text, Image, and Image-text message. Other recipient types can only receive Message Templates.
You can set up to three messages per broadcast, using multiple message types simultaneously, and the order of sending should match the order set by the merchant.
Set the broadcast sending time: Choose between Send now or Schedule time. Selecting Send now will start the broadcast immediately after creation, while selecting Schedule time will schedule the broadcast to be sent at a specific time.
Save existing content as a template: After filling in all the required fields for the broadcast, click Save as template to save the broadcast name and content as a template.
Click Send to complete the broadcast creation.
View Broadcast List
In SHOPLINE Admin, navigate to Messages > View Messages > Broadcast Messages > WhatsApp / Facebook to access your broadcast list.
- Edit Broadcast: For broadcasts in the Waiting to send status, you can click on the Edit icon in the options column to modify the broadcast information.
- Copy Broadcast: Click on the Copy icon in the options column to enter the new broadcast page. The name, content, and sending time of the copied broadcast will be copied, but the sending objects will not. You can edit it to quickly create a broadcast.
- Use Template: Clicking on Template in use will bring up a quick template popup. After selecting a template, you will enter the new broadcast page with the template content filled in for quick creation. Template content supports Edit and Delete.
View Broadcast Results
In SHOPLINE Admin, navigate to Messages > View Messages > Broadcast Messages > WhatsApp/Facebook. Click on the View icon in the options column to access the broadcast details page. Here, you'll find detailed information and data about the broadcast.
