Managing WeChat Official Account Messages
Once the connection is established, you can manage WeChat Official Account messages within SHOPLINE:
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, go to Channels > Messages and click the View messages button.
- The Message Center panel opens in a new tab. From the left navigation bar, select the WeChat icon to view and respond to customer messages from WeChat. You can also filter and manage messages.
Please note that currently, SHOPLINE Message Center only supports sending text and emoji messages via the WeChat Official Account channel. Due to WeChat's policies, you can only reply to a maximum of 5 messages within 48 hours with the same customer, whichever occurs first. After this limit, you need to wait for the customer to send a new message so you can start another session. Learn more details about WeChat's policies in the next section.
WeChat Official Account Messaging Policies
Sending messages to your customers through your WeChat official account is free, but there are limits on the time and number of messages:
- Customer Sends a Message: 5 messages within 48 hours.
- Customer Clicks Custom Menu: 3 messages within 1 minute.
- Customer Follows Your Official Account: 3 messages within 1 minute.
- Customer Scans a QR Code: 3 messages within 1 minute.
Note: The limits for the above four categories are independent from each other. For example, when a customer clicks a menu item, it consumes one message from the Customer Clicks Custom Menu category, without affecting the Customer Sends a Message quota. |
Template Messages
If you need to send service notifications to customers, the official account can use specific content templates to actively send messages. A single official account can support up to 25 templates, with a daily limit of 100,000 template messages. This limit may increase with a larger follower base, depending on WeChat's policy.
Please be aware that the information provided here may change according to updates in WeChat's official messaging policies. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, refer to the WeChat customer service information documentation or directly contact WeChat support.
