Your store's billing address is used to determine applicable taxes and available payment methods for your SHOPLINE subscription. This guide explains how to set or update your billing address and what to expect when it changes.
Setting Your Billing Address When Purchasing a Plan
If your store doesn't have a billing address on file, you'll be prompted to set one directly on the plan payment page before completing your purchase. To set your billing address:
- On the plan payment page, locate the Store billing address section.
- Select your Country/Region from the dropdown. If you select the United States, a State field will appear and is required. Select your state from the dropdown.
- Click Pay now to complete your purchase.
Your selected address will be saved to your store and applied to all future invoices.

Updating Your Billing Address in Basic Settings
To complete or update your SHOPLINE store's billing address, follow these steps:

In your admin panel, go to Settings > Basic settings, then find the Business details section.

In the Billing address section, click Edit.

In the pop-up window, complete or update your billing address information.
Note: If you select United States in the Country/region field, the State field becomes required. Select your state from the dropdown.
- Click Save to save your changes.
Potential Impacts of Changing the Address
Changing your billing address may affect the following:
- Taxes: You are responsible for all applicable taxes arising from the purchase of SHOPLINE services. SHOPLINE calculates taxes based on the applicable tax rate of the billing address you provide. These charges are separate from the service fees and will be collected via your authorized payment method.
- Payment methods: SHOPLINE offers different payment methods depending on your region. Therefore, changing your billing address may affect the available payment options for future invoices. For example, if your billing address is in Singapore (SG), you can use PayNow. However, if you change it to another country, PayNow may no longer be supported.

We recommend against changing your billing address frequently. Doing so may affect your ability to apply for and use SHOPLINE Payments, and may reduce the payment success rate of credit cards linked to your store. The billing address refers to your company's registered address (for business customers) or your permanent residence (for individual customers). You are required to provide accurate billing address information and update it promptly if it changes.
Q2. What if my credit card payments fail after changing my billing address?
If you encounter issues with your existing credit card after updating your billing address, try these solutions:
- Bind a new credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or choose a different payment method.
- Remove your current card and add it again.
If the problem persists, contact SHOPLINE customer support via the online chat in the admin panel (click the message icon in the bottom right corner) for assistance.
