After duplication, you can manage the products in the Products section of your SHOPLINE admin panel.
Understanding Product Duplication Logic
To improve the success rate of migration, MCC has added pre-validation logic for Product SKU Codes and Barcodes. As long as either the SKU Code or Barcode meets the condition of "having a value and being unique," migration can proceed. If duplicates or empty values are found, the migration will be interrupted with an error.
Product Migration Scenarios and Common Errors
| Scenario | Product Maintenance Method | Can be Migrated? |
| Only Maintaining SKU Code | SKU Code is not empty and unique | Yes. Connected by matching SKU Code. |
| Only Maintaining SKU Code | SKU Code has duplicate values | No. Error: Channel product SKU value cannot be duplicated. |
| Only Maintaining SKU Code | SKU Code has empty values | No. Error: Channel product "SKU" or "Barcode" cannot be empty. |
| Only Maintaining Barcode | Barcode is not empty and unique | Yes. Connected by matching Barcode. |
| Only Maintaining Barcode | Barcode has duplicate values | No. Error: Channel product Barcode cannot be duplicated. |
| Only Maintaining Barcode | Barcode has empty values | No. Error: Channel product "SKU" or "Barcode" cannot be empty. |
| Maintaining Both | SKU Code is not empty and unique | Yes. Connected by matching SKU Code. |
| Maintaining Both | SKU Code has duplicate values | No. Error: Channel product SKU value cannot be duplicated. |
| Maintaining Both | SKU Code is unique, AND Barcode is not empty and unique | Yes. Connected by matching Barcode. |
| Maintaining Both | SKU Code is unique, BUT Barcode has duplicate values | No. Error: Channel product Barcode cannot be duplicated. |
| Maintaining Both | SKU Code is unique, BUT Barcode has empty values | No. Error: Channel product "SKU" or "Barcode" cannot be empty. |
How to Prevent Duplicated Migrations
During the migration process, the system prioritizes matching by SKU Code or Barcode. If an identical product is found, it will automatically connect to it and will not create a duplicate product. If no match is found, a new SHOPLINE product is automatically created.
Products are considered "Identical" if they meet the following conditions simultaneously:
- The number of SKUs in the product is the same.
- The SKU Code or Barcode has a completely identical correspondence.
Reviewing Product Duplication Tasks
To track progress and review the results of your product duplication tasks:
-
Go to the Products section in Multichannel Connect and click Task Center in the top-right corner.
-
In the pop-up window, use the filters to locate your product duplication tasks.
-
Review task details, including progress, start time, end time, and result report, for insights into the duplication process.
If any products failed to duplicate, check the Result column and click Check the failure reason to identify issues and re-duplicate them.
Setting Up Automated Product Duplication
To simplify your workflow and eliminate repetitive manual tasks, you can enable automatic product duplication for your selected channel stores. Once activated, any unconnected products in these channels will be automatically copied to your designated SHOPLINE store at a scheduled time each day. Follow these steps to configure the feature:
-
In your Multichannel Connect app, go to Settings > Product settings.
-
In the Product duplication section, click Rule settings.
-
Select the stores you want to include in the automatic duplication process and specify the SHOPLINE locations where the duplicated products should be added.
- [For merchants using Faire] If you have an authorized Faire store and would like to include it, please select the appropriate special pricing rules for Faire.
-
After configuring the desired stores, click Save.
-
Return to the Product duplication section and toggle the switch to enable the feature.
| Note: If the designated SHOPLINE store location is deactivated or deleted, please update it promptly to avoid duplication errors. |
