Smart Feed (New): Configuring Multi-Market Google Feeds (Limited Access)
Smart Feed (New) supports multi-market feed configuration for Google, allowing merchants selling across multiple markets to run separate Google product feeds for different countries. Each feed uses the correct currency and language for the corresponding market, helping ensure localized pricing and content in Google Merchant Center (GMC).
This guide explains how to set up multi-market feeds for the first time and how existing Smart Feed (Old version before May 2026) merchants can upgrade their current feeds.
Note: This feature is currently available only to whitelisted users. If you are interested in using it, please contact SHOPLINE Support to request access for your store.
How Multi-Market Feeds Work
Before using Multi-Market feeds, make sure the corresponding markets and countries are already configured in your SHOPLINE store. Feed currency and language settings are based on your market configuration. For detailed instructions on setting up markets, please refer to the Markets section of the Help Center.
When you enable multi-market targeting, Smart Feed creates a separate Google feed for each selected country. Each feed uses the currency and default language configured for the corresponding market in your SHOPLINE store. Feed labels follow the country’s two-letter ISO code (for example, US or JP).
Note: You can enable up to 10 country feeds. Enabling and then disabling a country still counts toward this limit, so plan your market selection carefully.
Important Prerequisite: Enable Exchange Rate Protection
Before enabling Google Multi-Market feeds, make sure Exchange Rate Protection is enabled for the corresponding market. Otherwise, multi-market feeds may fail to sync or upgrade properly.
Google requires feed prices to match the prices customers see on your storefront. Since exchange rates fluctuate, Smart Feed provides an Exchange Rate Protection feature to prevent unnecessary price updates caused by minor exchange rate changes. Prices will only update when the exchange rate change exceeds a defined threshold.
Exchange Rate Protection is recommended for:
- Single-country markets
- Multi-country markets that share the same currency (for example, Eurozone markets)
Exchange Rate Protection is NOT recommended when:
- Your target markets involve significantly different currencies, as this increases the risk of price mismatch errors.
Note: For detailed instructions on enabling Exchange Rate Protection, please refer to the "Reducing Market Price Changes with Exchange Rate Fluctuation Protection" guide.
Setting Up Multi-Market Feeds
Before starting, make sure you have completed Steps 1 and 2 in the "Creating a Google Product Feed" section of this Help Center guide to sync products from SHOPLINE and connect your GMC account.
To enable multi-market targeting:
- In Smart Feed (New), go to Manage channels > Manage feeds > Google.
-
Turn on the Multi-market advertising toggle.
- Wait for the system to initialize. It will load all markets and countries that are enabled in your SHOPLINE store. Countries not supported by Google will not be available for selection.
-
Once loading is complete, enable the toggle for the markets you want to create feeds for. A pop-up window will remind you to enable Exchange Rate Protection before enabling additional markets. Click Confirm to proceed.
- Complete your product filtering and field rule configuration by following Steps 3 and 4 in the "Creating a Google Product Feed" section of this Help Center guide. Each country feed supports configuring a separate product sync scope independently.
- Click Sync now. Smart Feed will create a separate feed for each selected country and begin syncing products to GMC.
Important: The Sale Price macro ({{Sale Price}}) is not available in multi-market field rules. If your standard feed rules use this macro, it will not apply to your multi-market feeds. Use regular price fields instead.
Upgrading Existing Smart Feed Multi-Country Feeds
If you currently use Smart Feed (Old version before May 2026) and have set up feeds for multiple countries, you can upgrade those feeds to Smart Feed (New) to take advantage of true multi-market pricing and language support.
To be eligible to upgrade a feed, the following conditions must be met:
- The country's market in SHOPLINE must have Exchange Rate Protection enabled.
- The country must be supported by Google.
- The country must already be added to a market in your SHOPLINE store.
To upgrade:
- In Smart Feed (Old version before May 2026), click Upgrade next to the feed you want to migrate.
- The system checks whether your feed meets the upgrade conditions. Feeds that do not meet the conditions will not be available for upgrade.
- For eligible feeds, confirm the upgrade. Smart Feed (New) will apply the correct market currency, default language, and country settings to the upgraded feed.
- Your existing product filtering rules and field configurations will be carried over to the new version where compatible.
Note: If a feed’s country has not been added to any market in your SHOPLINE store, that feed will not be migrated automatically. You can add the country to a market and then enable it manually in Smart Feed (New). The feed in Smart Feed (Old version before May 2026) will no longer receive updates after the upgrade process is initiated.
