Introduction to Enhanced Conversions

Google Ads enhanced conversions is a tool designed to help you better measure the impact of ad campaigns on conversions. By tracking and analyzing key conversion actions like additions, purchases, and more, enhanced conversions provides valuable insights into the true effectiveness of campaigns. This empowers you to refine your ad placement and achieve better results.

It supplements existing conversion tags by sending hashed (SHA-256 Algorithm) first-party conversion data to Google in a privacy-safe way, improving the accuracy of conversion measurement and optimization effectiveness.

Configuring Enhanced Conversions

Follow the instructions below to set up Enhanced Conversions:

  1. Log in to your Google Ads account.

  2. In the left navigation menu, go to Goals > Conversions > Settings.

  3. Locate the Enhanced conversions option and click on the down arrow icon on the right.

  4. Check Turn on enhanced conversions and select Google Tag as the method for managing your data. Then, click Tag details.

  5. On the configuration page, it's recommended to select both Automatically detect user-provided data and Specify CSS selectors or JavaScript variables.

  1. If you enable Specify CSS selectors or JavaScript variables, select Global JavaScript variable to identify relevant user-provided data on your page and fill in the corresponding parameters (e.g., the parameter for the email is enhanced_conversion_data.email). Refer to the table below for specific parameters.

  2. Click Save to update the settings. 

 


 

Validation Process

Validating your implementation: After 72 hours, go to Goals > Conversions > Summary and click on the Diagnostics tab to confirm your implementation.
