Enabling/Disabling the Gift Card Feature
You can enable or disable the Gift card module within the Member System app.
After setting up the gift card product information for your store, ensure that the Gift card module is enabled.
If the green dot on the right side of the Gift card section in the menu lights up or the switch inside the gift card page is in the “On” position, the Gift card module is enabled, and gift cards can be purchased and distributed within the store.
You can enable the Gift card feature by going to Gift card and then turning on the Current status toggle.
You can also click this button again to disable the Gift card feature when it is already enabled.
When the Gift card feature is disabled, customers won’t receive automatically issued gift cards from the Member System when purchasing gift cards. However, existing unexpired gift cards can still be used by customers when placing orders.
Note: Gift card products in your admin panel’s Products module won’t be automatically removed by disabling. You need to manually remove the products. |
Setting up the Gift Card’s Information
You can set and modify the information of the Member System’s gift cards in your store with the following steps:
- Go to Member System > Gift card > Gift card information to set the gift card product information.
-
- Member System provides preset product titles, descriptions, and master images for you to use directly.
- Alternatively, you can fill in your own titles and descriptions, and change the master image to fit your store. Once finished, click Create in the lower right corner.
- After creating the gift card products, you can see the corresponding gift card information in the Products module of the store’s admin panel and view it.
- It is recommended to modify gift card-related information within Member System, including the aforementioned product information and the variant information in step two.
- Go to Member System > Gift card > Gift card variant to set gift card variant information.
-
- You can offer various face values. Each face value will be one of the variants. Variant name helps you and customers identify the variants. Enter a Price for how much you offer this variant at. Click the plus (+) icon to add additional face values.
- For example: You can enter the gift card variant as 50 (representing a gift card face value of USD 50) and specify the price as 50 (the selling price of this gift card is USD 50).
Note: When your customers purchase gift cards within the store and complete the payment, Member System will issue the gift card to the customer, and the balance inside the gift card corresponds to the selling price set here. |
Setting up the Gift Card’s Expiry Date
You can set the expiry date for gift cards, which will become unusable after their expiry date is exceeded. Managing the expiry date of gift cards effectively encourages customers to make purchases using gift cards.
Go to Member System > Gift card information > Expiry date setting and click Edit.
As per your store’s requirements, you can set the applicable expiry date for gift cards and save the changes.
You can set gift cards to be permanent, allowing them to remain usable indefinitely after the sale.
Alternatively, you can set them to be valid for a fixed period, such as 12 months. In this case, the gift cards will be valid for a specified amount of time after the date of purchase. Once the card is issued, customers will be informed of the specified expiry date.
Note: The expiry date of gift cards is determined by your settings when they were issued. Therefore, expiry dates can’t be changed after the gift card is issued. |
Setting up the Gift Card’s Pop-ups
You can configure the pop-up that appears when customers purchase gift cards.
Go to Member System > Gift card > Gift card popup.
According to your store’s needs, you can set the title, description, gift button text, add to cart button text, and popup image for the gift card purchase popup, and then save the changes.
For the popup image, you can select up to five images. The selected image will be displayed within the gift card purchase popup when customers buy the gift card. During the purchase, customers can choose one of the selected images, which will be displayed in the recipient’s email along with the gift card when sent to the recipient.
Note: If you have previously saved recipient emails for gift cards, you should edit and save them again. Otherwise, your gift card image selections won’t be displayed to your customers, and they’ll only be shown the default image. |
Pushing Emails
The email push feature helps you automatically push emails to customers in specific scenarios. In Gift card > Emails, you can quickly set whether email push notifications are triggered for gift card-related scenarios.
-
Turn on/off the email push: Currently, the Gift Card module provides you with four types of emails that can automatically push to customers under specific scenarios. By checking the box, you can decide whether to send the email in each specific scenario.
- Email to gift card recipient: When a customer purchases a gift card for someone else, it will be pushed to the gift card recipient after payment.
- Buyer confirmation email: When a customer purchases a gift card for someone else, the buyer will be notified after the gift card is sent to the gift card recipient.
- Gift card expiration notification: When a customer’s gift card is about to expire, the notification will be pushed five days before the expiration date by default.
- Gift card purchases: When a customer purchases a gift card for themselves in your shop, a gift card will be pushed to the customer after payment.
- If you want to edit any email template, hover over the email and click Edit to go to the email editing page.
- Click More on the upper right corner of the section to go to the Emails module, where you can configure the notifications for all the Member System modules like Membership, Points, and Referrals.
Previewing Gift Cards
After setting up the gift cards, you can preview the details page of the gift card product as seen by customers in your store.
Steps: Member System > Gift card > Preview. Click Preview to view the gift card’s product detail page.
Sending as a Gift
Member System’s gift cards can be purchased directly by customers and sent as a gift to others.
Customer Purchase Path: Go to Product detail Page > Send as a gift.
Gift cards created in the Gift card module of Member System will automatically have the option to be sent as gifts.
When customers enter a gift card’s product detail page in the Member System, they can click Send as a gift and fill in the gifting information through a pop-up window. Customers can write a message for the recipient and specify the name they want to display. Additionally, customers need to select an image within the pop-up window, which will be displayed in the recipient's email along with the gift card when sent to the recipient.
Upon completing the payment, the Member System will promptly and automatically distribute the gift card to the intended recipient and notify the customer via email.
