Applying for and Using SHOPLINE Payments POS Terminals (US Region)
This article will guide you through how to apply for and use the SHOPLINE Payments POS terminal in the United States. By integrating Adyen card readers into your offline store, you can enable an efficient and secure in-person payment process.
The core setup process includes:
Preparation: Create “Locations” and “POS Stores” in SHOPLINE admin.
Account activation: Activate your SHOPLINE Payments (SLP) account and complete KYC verification.
Device application: After payment methods are approved, apply for an Adyen POS terminal and complete rental payment.
Terminal configuration: Enable the relevant POS payment methods in the admin and activate the device.
After completing the above setup, you can start accepting in-store payments and view transaction details anytime from SHOPLINE admin.
Pre-setup Requirements
Before applying for a POS terminal, please ensure you have completed the following setup:
Create Location
From SHOPLINE admin, click Settings > Locations > Add to create a location.

Add POS Store
From SHOPLINE admin, go to the POS page, then click Store > Add a store to create a POS store.

Activate SHOPLINE Payments (SLP) Account
Before applying for a POS terminal, you need to activate your SHOPLINE Payments (SLP) account and complete KYC verification.
From SHOPLINE admin, click Settings > Payments.
Click Activate SHOPLINE Payments and complete the necessary setup, then submit your application.

Enable POS Payment Methods
After your SHOPLINE Payments application is approved, please ensure that POS payment methods are enabled:
From SHOPLINE Admin, go to the POS page, then click Settings > Payments.
Click Account and check that the relevant payment methods are enabled. If not enabled, you will not be able to accept payments via the POS terminal in-store.
Apply for Adyen POS Terminal
Once your SHOPLINE Payments POS payment method and KYC verification are approved, please log in to your SHOPLINE Admin to apply for a POS terminal. For detailed steps, please refer to this section: How to Apply for a POS Payment Terminal.

Receive and Activate the Device
Please wait for staff to confirm receipt of your rental payment. Once confirmed, SHOPLINE staff will contact you to complete installation and configuration of the POS terminal.
Go to Channels > POS > Settings > Payments.
In the SHOPLINE Payments section, click Settings.
Select the supported payment methods (e.g., Tap to Pay, card payments).
Click Update to complete the setup.
