Product Recommendation: Overview

The Product Recommendation app developed by SHOPLINE enables you to provide AI-powered intelligent recommendations. It can display personalized product suggestions to your customers on various pages of your store, helping improve your conversion rate.

This overview article will guide you through installing the app and highlight key features that can help you optimize product recommendations for your store.

 

 

Installing the Product Recommendation App

Follow the steps below to install the app:

  1. From your SHOPLINE admin panel, click Apps in the left pane.
  2. On the My Apps page, click the Go to App Store button in the upper right corner.

  3. SHOPLINE’s App Store opens in a new tab. Search for Product Recommendation and click Install.
  4. After successful installation, the app will appear in the Apps section of your SHOPLINE admin panel.

Authorizing the Use of User Data

Product Recommendation uses the user data of customers who visit your store, so you need to permit it to access user data. Click on the Data privacy settings button in the upper right corner, and turn on the Enable DataAuthorization toggle in the pop-up window. Click Confirm once finished.3.png

 

 

Configuring Recommendation Mode for Store Pages

Product Recommendation supports product recommendation on the product details page, product list page, search page, shopping cart page, payment result page, and more. It offers several AI recommendation modes for you to choose from. You can also customize the recommendation rules to make your recommendations.

Click Recommend by page and select  the store page you want to configure product recommendations for. Then, follow the instructions in the Product Recommendation Setup Guide to the configuration.

Enabling Similar Product Recommendation

To increase your conversion rate, you can choose to turn on the Search similar products toggle at the Dashboard page so that similar products are displayed and recommended to customers when they're browsing a product.

Customizing Product Recommendation Display Positions

To customize where product recommendation components appear on your storefront, go to Online Store > Design, and open the Theme Editor. You can add the Product Recommendations component to different pages, choose a data source, and drag the component to your preferred position.

Viewing Conversion Data

Product Recommendation offers a data dashboard to help you understand the conversion of your store.  On the Dashboard page, you can view various data, including Sales, Views, Clicks, and Conversion rate. Click each metric to learn the details.
