Flow Automation: Triggering Workflows When a Product Is Added to a Collection
You can use the Product added to collection trigger in Flow Automation to start a workflow immediately after a relationship is created between a product and a collection in the admin panel. This allows you to automate updates to collection metadata or internal catalog management.
This guide explains the actions supported by this trigger, how to test it end-to-end, and provides a practical example for automating collection updates.

Supported Actions
The following actions are supported when using the Product added to collection trigger. These actions allow you to automatically modify collection details based on different collection types:
- Update Manual Collection: Used to update information for manual collections. For details, please refer to "Flow Automation: Updating Manual Collections via Action."
- Update Smart Collection: Used to update information for automated (smart) collections. For details, please refer to "Flow Automation: Updating Smart Hierarchy via Action."

Testing the Workflow
To test whether the workflow is successfully initiated when a product is linked to a collection, follow these steps:
- In Flow Automation, set up a workflow using the Product added to collection trigger.
- From your SHOPLINE admin panel, add a product to an existing collection using one of the following methods:

From the Collection Settings Page: Go to Products > Collections, select a manual collection, and click + Add products in the Collection products section.

From the Product Settings Page: Go to Products, select a specific product, and assign it to a collection in the Collections section.

From the Collection Settings Page: Go to Products > Collections, select a manual collection, and click + Add products in the Collection products section.

After saving the changes, go to the Flow Automation app to check the execution results.
