Authorizing Assets for Facebook Ads

Before launching Facebook ad campaigns, you need to authorize your advertising assets. This ensures the appropriate personnel or partners can safely access your advertising assets, such as ad accounts, Facebook Pages, and apps, to manage and execute your ads.

This guide explains the importance of authorization, the process involved, and how to grant, manage, and revoke access. By following these steps, you can effectively control and protect your advertising assets.

Facebook Ads Asset Authorization Process

Before running Facebook ads, follow the steps below to complete Facebook asset authorization, verify relevant permissions, and configure Facebook channel settings. Then, you can start advertising.

1. Enable Two-factor Authentication: This provides an extra layer of protection to your account beyond passwords. Refer to the official guide for instructions: How two-factor authentication works on Facebook.

2. Obtain Admin Access for Business Manager: Ensure your Facebook account has admin access for your Business Manager before proceeding.

3. Add Your Facebook Page to Business Manager: Make sure your Facebook Page has been added to your Business Manager.

4. Create a Facebook Pixel

Using Pixel for tracking and analysis is crucial in Facebook advertising campaigns. Pixel, a small code snippet embedded on a website, tracks user behavior and conversions.

With Pixel, you gather data on ad impressions and user interactions, including ad clicks, website visits, registrations, purchases, and other conversion events. This data aids in assessing ad effectiveness and refining targeting strategies.

5. Complete Domain Verification

Domain verification is required by Facebook for advertisers, especially when advertising or selling products. After declaring domain ownership on Meta, you can manage editing permissions for links and content, preventing unauthorized domain use and guarding against misinformation. Follow these steps to verify your domain:

1. Open Facebook Business Manager.

2. Go to Settings > Brand Safety > Domains and add your domain (without "http:// or https://").

3. Use Meta-tag to verify. Then, copy the content in the double quotes (content = "xxxxx").

4. Go to your SHOPLINE admin panel > Channels > Facebook > Domain verification > Setup > Add and paste the copied content.

5. Return to your Facebook Business Manager and click Verify to complete domain verification.

6. Add Website Events

You can set up to 8 website events in priority order to optimize and report on your campaigns. It's recommended to prioritize the "Purchase" event.

1. Open your Facebook Business Manager.

2. Go to Events Manager and choose the Pixel associated with your website.

3. Click Configure Web Events. Here are some common events to consider (add more if needed): 

• • Purchase
  • Add to cart
  • Initiate checkout
  • Add payment Info
  • View content
  • Search
