Migrating Your Membership Program to SHOPLINE Member System
Customer loyalty is a key driver of success for any business. Member System, as SHOPLINE's native customer loyalty enhancement solution, aims to boost brand loyalty, increase repeat purchases, attract new members, and enhance the retention rate of existing members. By offering exclusive discounts and privileges, you can build an effective membership program that maximizes customer lifetime value (LTV) and achieves growth in both member loyalty and cost efficiency.
Currently, you can migrate your program from other membership platforms like Smile (Shopify), Yotpo (Shopify), Rivo (Shopify), Rise.ai (Shopify), LoyaltyLion (Shopify), Lily (Shoplazza and BigCommerce), LightSpeed Loyalty, and WooCommerce Points and Rewards to SHOPLINE Member System.
To ensure a smooth and successful migration of your membership program, you need to follow the sequence of migrating your store to SHOPLINE, syncing store data with Member System, configuring your membership program, and then migrating member assets to avoid negative perceptions or asset losses for your historical customers. Follow the step-by-step instructions in this guide to complete the migration.
Migrating Your Store
If you previously used other ecommerce website builders, start by migrating the store data to SHOPLINE.
You can use the free Multi-platform Store Migration tool provided by SHOPLINE to quickly complete data migration. Learn more details from articles in this section.
It is strongly advised to install and use Member System after completing the store data migration. If you have already installed Member System, ensure that all the following features are turned off before completing the store data migration:
- Overview: Turn off Enable member panel
- Membership: Turn off Enable rules
- Points > Points rules: Turn off Current status
- Store credits: Turn off Current status
- Emails: Turn off all notifications
Syncing Store Data with Member System
When you install Member System, you authorize it to sync customer and order data. This process will complete automatically without any manual operation.
The data that will be synced includes, but not limited to:
- Your customers, their emails, and join times, allowing you to manage your members without interruption. View the data in Customers.
- Your order details, including customer, actual payment amount, and purchased items. This data will be used to update membership levels or paid membership, award or recover points and credits, and gift cards in real-time.
Configuring The Membership Program
If you previously builded your membership program using other membership platforms, make sure to complete the program configuration before migrating member assets.
Points
In Points > Points rules, set up the rules according to your pre-migration configuration, including points name, validity period, and how members earn and redeem points. Learn more about setting up points.
Once you finish and enable the configuration, the system will start to issue points to members based on the rules.
If you enable Successful orders as one of the ways to earn points:
- If you migrate orders using the Multi-platform Store Migration tool, Member System will not award points based on the migrated orders.
- If you migrate orders using other methods, Member System will award points to members based on their actual consumption amount of the migrated orders. Members will see a points acquisition record with each successful order in the member's personal center and on the membership pop-up panel.
For the other ways to earn points, Member System will award points to members when customers complete the corresponding tasks in your migrated SHOPLINE store. For example, customers need to subscribe to emails after migration to earn points.
Your members’ detailed records of points acquisition and redemption from before migration won’t be transferred to SHOPLINE Member System. Learn how to adjust the points balance for customers in the Migrating Member Assets section below.
